We Have Given 57,000 Volume of our Loans to Women to Bring them into Financial Inclusion Space – RenMoney

Head, Information and Technology, RenMoney, Adija Uzodinma has said that Renmoney, a fintech lending company using technology to drive financial inclusion has given out a total number of 57,000 of its loans to women in order to scale up their needs and bring them into the financial inclusion goal.

Uzodinma said that Renmoney gives its credit facilities to women because of their industrious capacity to build different types of businesses, knowing that they are housewives who are running businesses.

“They have ambition that we want to support, and that’s why we have a lot of corporate social activities that address their needs in the society. We believe that if they are empowered, the nation will be developed at large”, she said.

Uzodinma also pointed that over 10,000 loans have been given to micro businesses at different capacities to scale up their capacities in Lagos.

She did identify  inadequate data and lack of collaboration among the industry players as major challenges confronting the achievement of  financial inclusion in Nigeria.

Uzodinma said to get customers’ financial footprints is  difficult, as  data in the country are not harmonised. .

““If we have a platform that tracked what and how consumers spend their funds, the facts will help us to understand customers’ spending capacity and habits and it will make lending affordable for the people”, she said.
