To boost African digital payment experience and bring the unbanked into the financial ecosystem, Visa, a global payment platform partnered with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Country Manager and Vice President, Visa West Africa, Kemi Okunsanya stated that the Paytech firm is one of the major official sponsors of the 2019 edition of the competition and the country manager described the partnership as one of the company’s major initiatives of driving financial inclusion in Africa.
Okusanya further explained that the payment firm partnered with CAF to make fans and tourists payment experience at the biennial tournament a worthwhile.
She said, ‘’we have partnered CAF for this tournament to bring value to customers and drive financial inclusion which is our ultimate goal.
‘’We are bringing opportunities and transforming lives and economies. We have been sponsoring football for a very long time.

‘’It’s evident from Fifa women world cup that Visa brand has been strongly associated with this because we also have this as one of our football assets.’’
She promised that the global payment platform will continue to deploy various initiatives, actions and partnership that will form a synergy with institutions and boost African payment experience.
