AppZone, leading banking and payment service provider for micro-finance banks in Nigeria has emerged winner of the “Best Micro-finance Technology Solutions Provider” at the 2018 National Association of Micro-finance Banks Conference and Awards.
The award was presented at a recent ceremony attended by over 100 companies in Abuja.
According to the organisers, AppZone won the award for its contribution to the micro-finance sector since the launch of its foremost product, BankOne.
BankOne is a tech platform that manages the entire operations involved in the delivery of financial services to individuals and micro businesses in the informal sector.
The platform supports multiple alternative delivery channels, including automated teller machines (ATMs), point-of-service devices (POS), mobile phones (via mobile and USSD banking), web terminals (via Internet banking) as well as electronic channels of commercial banks and banking agents.
Mr. Emeka Emetarom, Executive Director, AppZone Group, said the award is an indication of the immense work done by the company to smoothen the operations of micro-finance banks across the country.
“We have empowered about one-third of the micro-finance banks operating in Nigeria with a robust, cost-effective core banking automation software to ensure the effectiveness of operations as well as boost profitability of the institutions through the Bank One App.
“We are, therefore, delighted that our partnership with the micro-finance banks and our strategic service partners to provide the optimal technology requirements needed by the micro-finance banks has been recognised by the banks themselves,” he said.
AppZone continues to break new grounds for innovation in cashless payment systems in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa with the BankOne App. The app is being used in over six countries with over 350 micro finance banks on its platform.
