United Bank for Africa Launches Mobile Banking App in Sierra Leone

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has launched a mobile banking application in Sierra Leone.

UBA Sierra Leone CEO Chinedu Obeta said the mobile platform has a biometric option, 24-hour customer service support and the application aims to strengthen its position as a technology and service-driven commercial bank.

He said UBA is poised to use robust digital banking channels to drive financial inclusion, especially the un-banked populace in the urban and rural part of Sierra Leone in a few years from now.

Obeta said the app offers benefits such as instant self-registration for debit card, prepaid card or account, plus secure biometric fingerprint and facial authentication, money transfers, statement views, download and sharing receipts, ATM and branch location information.
