Amid concerns expressed by Edutech experts in respect to the challenges of multiple identities by students who are studying and writing online examinations, President of Beni America University, Gossy Ukanwoke, has identified innovation and technology as the panacea that can help to eradicate the problem.
Ukanwoke who is a higher education investor said the challenge of multiple identities is part of the problems limiting the development of online education around the world. He said the worry can be surmounted by technology and innovation.
He explained that the examination conducted for BAU students are held at physical locations in Nigeria.
“It’s a physical examination but it is a computer based testing [CBT]. The students visit the physical centres, get accredited, confirming that the person who has come to write the examination is the same person known to the institution.
“For OAU’s case, we let the students go to Obafemi Awolowo University campus to write their examinations. So we have to take these actual steps because of the system we are concerned with”.
Ukanwoke advised that continuous innovation and continuous review of policy and curriculum are what government must focus on to enhance the growth and development of education.
