Technology, innovation and human quest for excellence drive change for smart city

As the insatiable needs of man continue to increase, the need for man to re-invent his environment has also
intensified. Technology, innovation and human quest to live for excellence are parts of the major indices driving the change for a smart city environment.

At a one day eNNovators Breakfast Series [EBS] – a quarterly breakfast event specially packaged for the Dreamers, Drivers and Doers (3Ds) of technology business across Africa.
Speaking at the event, the Board Chair of Smartcity Resorts Plc, Sir Demola Aladekomo has identified the importance of smart city to the development of the society.

Aladekomo said that the goal of building a smart city is to improve quality of life by using urban informatics and technology to improve the efficiency of services and meet residents’ needs.
For any city to run smartly, the former Charms Executive Director said that energy, security, must be available.

He described smart city as an urban development vision to integrate multiple information and communication technology and Internet solutions in a secure fashion to manage a city’s assets.
